Hastingsbury is a Foundation School for students aged 13 - 19 and is a founder member of the Kempston Education Trust. It is non-denominational and fully comprehensive in its intake.

School Organisation Review

As you are no doubt aware, the Borough Council agreed last November to the publication of statutory notices to change all its lower schools to primary schools to cover the full 4-11 age range, to change upper schools to secondary schools covering the full 11-18 age range and to close middle schools.  Those notices were published on the 14 January 2010. You will note that if you have any comments on or objections to the proposal you should submit them to Michael Gough at the Borough Council by 25 February 2010.  If you have any questions about what is proposed for Hastingsbury, please speak to the Head teacher in the first instance.  More detail behind the summary notice is  published on the Borough Council’s website at www.bedford.gov.uk .

 

 
Science Faculty – Examinations January 2010

Monday 18th January 2010 - am
Year 11 – some students have a re-sit of module B2C2P2 (Keeping Healthy, Material Choices, Radiation and Life) – 40 minutes paper. There will be a “Just In Time” revision session for these students in the Main Hall commencing promptly at 8.20am.

 

Year 9 – GCSE - groups 9N1 (Mr. Clark) and 9S2 (Mr. Hill) have a module examination C1C2C3 (Air Quality, Material Choices, Food Matters) – 40 minutes paper. There will be a “Just In Time” revision session for these students in S8 in the Science Block commencing promptly at 8.20am.

Monday 25th January 2010 - pm
Year 13 – A2 Biology – students have a module examination F214 (Communication, Homeostasis & Energy) – one hour paper.

Additional Science students – all Year 10 and some Year 11 (re-sits) have a module examination B4C4P4 (Homeostasis, Chemical Patterns, Explaining Motion) – 40 minutes paper. There will be a “Just In Time” revision session for these students in the Main Hall during period 4.

Wednesday 27th January 2010 - am
Year 13 – A2 Chemistry – students have a module examination F334 (Chemistry of Materials) – one hour 30 minutes paper.

Wednesday 27th January 2010 - pm
Year 11 – Additional Science students – some have a re-sit of module examination B5C5P5 (Growth and Development, Chemicals of the Natural Environment, Electric Circuits) – 40 minutes paper. There will be a “Just In Time” revision session for these students in S8 in the Science Block during period 4.

Thursday 28th January 2010 – pm
Year 13 – A2 Physics – students have a module examination 6PH04 (Physics on the Move) – one hour 35 minutes paper.
